Author: Winnie Winkle

Winnie Winkle is a fabulous Central Florida broad who swills bourbon, likes dogs and cats, and practices yoga, but not with any degree of grace. Supporting live local music is a pretty big deal to Winnie, so if you pass a gravestone that admonishes, 'Go see the band and hit the tip jar', it's probably hers. But, since she's not dead yet, she'll keep penning fun stuff to rock your reading chair A 30 plus year Florida resident, she splits her time between Daytona Beach Shores and the Mount Dora areas. She prefers writing beach-side as much as she can because, if we’re baring our souls here, the ocean is a mighty muse and one can only expect so much from coffee. Winnie is most active on Facebook, so come say hello!

Pre Orders for To Walk in the World go live 3/31

When my fingers first hit the keyboard in late 2017 I had no idea the adventure ahead. This book morphed into a love letter to my mother, to myself, and to woman everywhere, ones who examined their lives and said:  "I can be more. In fact, I'm called to change, and I have to answer." …

“To Walk in the World” Cover Reveal!

"To Walk in the World" took its time becoming, but I'm so proud of this story. Well, stories, since from the onset, the novel became a parallel narrative. I love strong female characters, and understanding how strength reshapes after breaking felt important to explore. This cover, in the reveal below, captures a visual sense of …

New Release! To Walk in the World

Stepping out of your comfort zone is exhilarating. As a child, I remember staring at the tall steel jungle gym on my elementary playground, then beginning the climb. Breathless, high above the world, I gazed around at the other kids on the ground below as the sense of accomplishment blew through my chest. My new …

The Forever Book: Salt Shaken

I started writing the second book in the Boogie Beach series, Salt Shaken with the intention to release in July 2020, but I hit a wall. The lockdown, the unfolding pandemic, and the stress of trying to be safe while living in a country that couldn't seem to put on a mask left me too …

Looking to the Rise and New Releases

I'm a sunrise person, I always have been. Sunsets are wonderful, and I've wound many a day down watching the sun slip away, alone or with loved ones, and the moments resonate, but there is an intangible sense that accompanies the rise, the seduction of potential, of possibility, that calls my spirit. When I decided …

New Year 2021, New Ways

Winnie Winkle Author or PNR and humorous fantasy

Standing on the edge of New Year 2021, 2020 still intrudes. 2020 was complicated. Scary. It demanded flexibility. Upending to many, terminal to some. 2020 did not care if you were ready, if you wanted change, or whether you had plans. Inside the chaos, lives flourished, relationships changed, patterns were broken. Art was created by …

Christmas, 2020 Style

Winnie Winkle author

On Facebook, a friend posted that this has been the worst year ever, Christmas won't feel like Christmas, and asked if others felt the same. This got me thinking, because yes, 2020 was complicated, but not due to things I could control. For me, 2019 stacked more lessons, bruises, and pressure. I came into that …

Welcome, hello, hi!

16 years ago, I started a blog to ponder things that interested me, and ended up in the wave of bloggers that took off over the following couple of years. But... It's been far too long since I've mused aloud. Maybe Facebook created a venue for that, but I'd rather ramble here. I hope you'll …

Snippet from Boogie Beach: The Record, Book 1

Author note: These humorous fantasy books begin releasing in June, 2021! I owned and managed the Sun Dance Pier. Locals called it “The Boogie” but on the license it’s ‘Boogie Beach Crab Shack.’ At sixteen, I started waiting tables, then moved to the bar. Now, I was way past that, but I looked hot and …
