In hindsight, I’m not sure what I expected when I began these literary fiction stories. Have you ever been in a situation, at a keen loss for words, yet expected to say… something? The sense of standing by, lost in the emptiness of a platitude, tugged my heart. I wondered, how many people stare into the abyss of a life continuing without a beloved soul, and lose it?
To Walk in the World is a story of a path taken by a surviving soul and the unexpected surprises found along the way.
Have you struggled so hard for a dream that priorities slipped unnoticed until your heart cries, lost and alone? In Dancing with Silandia, Janice grows so determined not to slide though a city’s grates and become one more unknown in a too vast sea named ‘almost made it’, that she almost turned her back on the best bits of life’s table.
Because we do this… a prioritizing of the worlds demands over those of our hearts and innermost needs.
These are my literary fiction efforts to capture, long after the fact, the words that linger in love and redemption and the hard scrabble to break ties of the world for those of the soul.
